Early Life
Randy Orton was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, the U.S., on April 1, 1980. The 42-year-old is a son of a nurse and a former professional wrestler, Bob Orton.
Randy Orton attended Hazelwood Central High School, where he began his career as an amateur wrestler. Randy’s parents did not want him to be a professional wrestler due to the risks of the sport. His father warned him that life in the ring was a matter of life and death.
Randy Orton listened to his parents and quit his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1998 after graduating from high school. However, he didn’t stay as a marine corp for long.
Randy was discharged after disobeying an order from a commanding officer and going AWOL on two occasions.
Wrestling Career
Randy Orton began his wrestling career in 2000 at the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling (MMWAS-SICW). He received training from his father and the staff of MMWAS-SICW promotion.
Randy joined WWE in 2001 and was sent to the company’s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in Louisville, Kentucky.
