Early Life 

Randy Orton was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, the U.S., on April 1, 1980. The 42-year-old is a son of a nurse and a former professional wrestler, Bob Orton. 

Randy Orton attended Hazelwood Central High School, where he began his career as an amateur wrestler. Randy’s parents did not want him to be a professional wrestler due to the risks of the sport. His father warned him that life in the ring was a matter of life and death. 

Randy Orton listened to his parents and quit his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1998 after graduating from high school. However, he didn’t stay as a marine corp for long. 

Randy was discharged after disobeying an order from a commanding officer and going AWOL on two occasions. 

Wrestling Career

Randy Orton began his wrestling career in 2000 at the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling (MMWAS-SICW). He received training from his father and the staff of MMWAS-SICW promotion. 

Randy joined WWE in 2001 and was sent to the company’s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Randy Orton won the OVW Hardcore Championship twice. He first defeated Mr Black in February 2001, then Flash Flanagan three months later. 

Orton’s first appearance in WWE was on March 16, 2002, at Wrestlemania X8’s Fan Axxess. His first WWE match on TV was against Hardcore Colly on April 25, 2002. The American international joined the Raw brand in September 2002. 

Randy Orton began numerous feuds with well-respected names in the ring after joining Raw. He was dubbed “The Legend Killer” due to blatantly disrespecting WWE legends. It was at this time that he began using the RKO signature move. 

Orton became the youngest WWE champion in history when he defeated Chris Benoit at SummerSlam in 2004. Randy Orton was awarded the WWE Championship for the first time in 2007 after defeating John Cena in the No Mercy Wrestling Event. 

Randy Orton won the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time in 2011 after defeating Christian. Orton, who won the Royal Rumble for the first time in 2009, won the title again in 2017. 

Randy Orton became the 18th Grand Slam Champion after defeating Bobby Roode in the orbit of the WWE United States Championship.

Acting Career

Randy Orton had a supporting role as the father of a school bully in the film. That’s What I Am. He starred in the film 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded (2013). 

Randy also featured in the Series Shooter in 2016. In 2019, the 42-year- American had supporting roles in the films Changeland and Long Shot. 

Personal Life

Randy Orton is married to Kimberly Kessler. The couple who lives in Missouri has a daughter together. Randy also has another daughter with his ex-wife Samantha Speno. Randy and Speno were a couple between 2007 and 2012. 

The wrestler has a condition known as hypermobility which affects both of his shoulders. The condition is the cause of Randy’s numerous injuries in his wrestling career.
