Career
Being the son of a former footballer, Daley Blind developed passion for the sport at a very young age. He began his football journey at Ajax academy and went through the club’s youth set-up before receiving promotion to the first-team ahead of the 2008–09 season.
Blind began his career as a midfielder, mostly playing the ‘No. 6’ or ‘third centre-back’ role. On 7 December 2008, the youngster made his debut in the Ajax first-team in the match against FC Volendum. Following his impressive performance with Ajax, Manchester United signed Blind on 1 September 2014. With the Red Devils, he won the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield.
In 2018, Blind returned to Ajax and signed a four-year deal. He helped the club win three Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Cups and one Johan Cruyff Shield.
On 5 January 2023, Bayern Munich signed Blind from Ajax on a contract valid until the end of the 2022-23 season. He won the Bundesliga title at the end of the season and then joined Spanish side Girona.
