Shehu Abdullahi is a Nigerian professional player who plays as a defensive right back and midfielder for the Nigeria national team with a net worth of $1.5 million in 2023.

The prolific defender recently got married to the love of his life, Sumayya Mustapha, who works as a beautician and the couple is blessed with a son.

His wife owns a fashion brand after graduating from Usman Fodio University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. The couple met through a mutual friend and one thing led to the other.

So unfortunate that the footballer lost his father a few years back after a brief illness when he was in Swaziland for training. He is a practising Muslim who holds on to his religion dearly.

His way to fame was warmly welcomed by fans when he got the Man of the Match award in the crucial qualifying game against Zambia. The match was held in Uyo and it sealed the country’s qualification for the 2018 World Cup.

The midfielder started his career as a player in Kano Pillars and has since played for many football clubs in Nigeria before he became an international player.

He then joined newly promoted Primeira Liga side C.F Uniao on a two-year deal then to Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta on a two-year deal.

Shehu was named in the Nigeria 23-man squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship earning his first cap in a loss against Mali when he appeared as a substitute.
