What did the police say?
The chief of Kathmandu District Police Range told the public that they received complaints from a teenager accusing Sandeep of rape. The police are sensitive to such serious incidents and have already launched investigations concerning the reports.
The teenage girl told police that she has been a fan of Sandeep Lamichhane for some time now. According to the police, Lamichhane and the lady have been communicating on social media via Whatsapp and Snapchat.
Sandeep Lamichhane proposed a meeting with the lady, and they arranged a trip to Bhaktapur. The cricket star lingered, and his fan could not return to her hostel in Madhya Baneshwar on time. The hostel closes at 8 p.m.
The lady suggested they sleep in different hotel rooms, but Sandeep rejected the idea. Sandeep and his accuser spent the night together at a hotel room in Pingalasthan of Kathmandu. And he allegedly drugged her before raping her two times that same night.
Sandeep Lamichhane is currently in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with Jamaica Tallawahs. He will be leaving the tournament soon as he is expected to return to his country to help the police in investigations.
