  • Elon Musk tweeted he is purchasing the Red Devils
  • He didn’t say much about the sale
  • It’s hard to tell if it is one of his outbursts

On Tuesday, Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, tweeted that he will purchase the English Premiere League club, Manchester United.

He tweeted it out without offering more details about his newly-found interest with the Red Devils.

“I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome,” read his tweet. However, Musk has a history of acting in an unconventional manner and sending out irreverent tweets.

Thus, it was not immediately clear whether he intended to pursue a deal to secure Manchester United or not.

The Glazer family of the United States controls the club. In response to a request for comment, neither Musk’s family nor Musk himself immediately provided a response.

Last year, British newspaper The Daily Mirror said that the Glazer family was willing to sell the club. But, the family would do so only if they were offered more than 4 billion pounds ($4.84 billion).

It remains to be seen what happens next since Musk is now engaged in a legal battle with Twitter over their attempt to stop him from exiting a $44 billion agreement to buy the company.

Musk reportedly walked out of the deal at the last minute, touching off a legal battle.

Manchester United is one of the football clubs with the most devoted fans in the world. The Red Devils have the most prestigious club competition in the history of football.

They won the European Cup three times, and they hold the record as EPL champions with a record of 20 victories.

In the past two seasons, there is growing concern among fans about the club’s dwindling fortunes. Fans are discontent with what they believe to be the Glazers’ lack of ambition to bring in elite players.

As a result, the Red Devils ended sixth in the English Premier League tale in the previous season. All this is while the club’s crosstown rivals Manchester City won their second consecutive title.

One of the elite players, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly uneasy with the team and is still exploring his options.

As of the closure of the stock exchange on Tuesday, the football club’s market capitalization stood at $2.08 billion.

The Glazer family paid 790 million pounds ($955.51 million) to purchase Manchester United in 2005. In recent years, Manchester United supporters have staged protests against the Glazers in response to the team’s poor performance on the field.

The anti-Glazer campaign gained steam during the course of the previous year after Manchester United was involved in an unsuccessful attempt to organize a breakaway European Super League.

A number of supporters have recommended that Elon Musk purchase Manchester United rather than Twitter.

Musk has a history of making unorthodox behaviours and comments, which can make it difficult to determine whether or not he is kidding at times.

Musk established the most valuable automobile manufacturer in the world, electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla. He is also the force behind rocket company SpaceX and a number of other smaller companies.

The Boring Company is one of the companies that are making tunnels. Even with business astuteness, he still cuts an image of an irrational man.

Musk, a while back, gave the impression of smoking marijuana on a podcast. He fought with U.S. regulators over his disclosures about his plans for Tesla. They included an attempt to take the company private that was ultimately unsuccessful.

According to Forbes, his fortune is estimated at around $270 billion.
