Novak Djokovic redeemed himself by beating Nick Kyrgios in Wimbledon 2022 finals to lift his 21st Grand Slam.

Djokovic came back from a set down to defeat Kyrgios and win his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title. The match was one of the most eagerly anticipated Grand Slam finals for spectators who were not rooting for either player.

Djokovic defeated Kyrgios 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3) to win his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title.

HAS NOVAK DJOKOVIC EVER WON A GRAND SLAM?

Despite the fact that Wimbledon is his second most successful Grand Slam, Djokovic has won a staggering seven singles titles. This ties him with Pete Sampras for the most Wimbledon Grand Slam titles in tennis history.

He is tied for second place on the men’s all-time list behind Roger Federer, who has eight titles. He has broken the men’s second-place tie of 20 Grand Slam titles with Federer, moving up to 21.

He is now within one win of Nadal in the Grand Slam race that never ends.

HOW DID NOVACK DJOKOVIC BEAT NICK KYRGIOS AT WIMBLEDON?

Novak Djokovic maintained his concentration throughout the match, and he eventually won. First, he began to wear Kyrgios down in the lengthier exchanges, before serving the Australian smooth serves.

Ultimately, he won the match. After four incredible first serve returns, the world No.1 finally broke Kyrgios’s serve to love after playing a fantastic return game with a 2-1 score.

Djokovic overcame a deficit of 0-40 and a total of four break points. He fended them off with a delectable drop shot, in order to hold under pressure and finish the set at 5-3.

At the beginning of the match, Kyrgios kept his fury under control. Nevertheless, as the third set progressed, his disposition gradually deteriorated. Kyrgios frequently ranted toward his box, and after a spectator yelled out during his serve, he received an audible obscenity code penalty as he was arguing with the umpire.

In the meantime, security confronted a protestor who was chanting, “Where Is Peng Shuai?” Djokovic maintained his composure even as the mayhem unfurled over the net, and he gradually raised his level until it reached the stratosphere.

He played exceptionally well for the entirety of the third set, making only two unforced errors while recording 14 wins. In the fourth set, he had to be patient since Kyrgios served quite well.

However, one of the numerous challenges that his adversaries face these days is the fact that he can serve just as effectively as they can. As soon as the tiebreak began, Djokovic began to dominate, while Kyrgios began to lose ground. In the beginning of this year, after a little pause, he got back to work on his historical research.

HOW MANY WIMBLEDON TITLES DOES NOVAK DJOKOVIC HAVE?

Djokovic is also only the fourth man in history to win four straight Wimbledon titles. He follows in the footsteps of Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, and Federer.

Kyrgios described his opponent as “a little bit of a god.” Nonetheless, he says he played a good game although he lost to Djokovic.

Kyrgios established a reputation for himself throughout his career as a big match player. He excels when competing against the best, but it was unclear whether or not he would be as courageous when there was so much at stake.

Without a doubt, he was. Kyrgios served exceptionally well throughout the stress-free first set. He wove his web of diversity, and he even out-rallied Djokovic from the backhand corner.

Djokovic, who is considered to be one of the best returners of all time, had a difficult time reading the Australian’s serve. The set was decided on a poor service game in which Djokovic double-faulted on break point, and the Australian won the set.

IS NICK KYRGIOS FRIENDS WITH NOVAK DJOKOVIC?

In spite of the fact that Kyrgios has previously directed insults and criticism at Djokovic, the two tennis players had, for some inexplicable reason, spent the night before their Grand Slam final publicly communicating with each other through Instagram stories.

The night concluded with Kyrgios extending an invitation to Djokovic to join him for a drink. The newly discovered warmth between them persisted after the event, as seen by the effusive praise they showered on one another during the presentation of the prize.
