The Grand Slam Event is equally important in the female and male categories.
Since the early stages, there have been four major Grand Slams: the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
Other than men, women also have worked hard in the game of tennis.
Here are the top five female tennis players in terms of Grand Slam singles titles.

Two players have the fifth-highest number of Grand Slam victories in their careers. One of the two is Chris Evert.
Evert is one of the world’s best female tennis players. The American is a former World No. 1 who won 18 Grand Slams during her career. She won Roland Garros seven times, the Australian Open twice, Wimbledon three times, and the US Open six times.
When Martina Navratilova arrived in the late 1970s, fans were treated to an exciting on-court rivalry. Evert was the world’s year-end number one player for seven years and had an overall career record in singles matches of more than 90%.
Martina Navratilova is only the second female tennis player in history to have won 18 Grand Slam titles. She is the second woman in Grand Slam history to have won more than 300 matches.
4 Helen Wills Moody – 19 titles
Helen Wills Moody was a pro tennis player who won 19 Grand Slam titles. If one considers all categories, like doubles and mixed doubles, in addition to singles, the American won 31 Grand Slam titles. Although she died in 1998 at 92, her legacy lives on.
She once held a 180-match winning streak and was widely regarded as the greatest female tennis player in history.
In terms of singles Grand Slam titles, she won the French Open four times, Wimbledon eight times, and the US Open seven times.
3 Steffi Graf – 22 titles
In her professional career, Steffi Graf has won 22 Grand Slam titles. She won four Australian Open titles, six French Open titles, seven Wimbledon titles, and five US Open titles.
Graf is still regarded as one of the most gentle athletes of her generation, with a remarkable ability to execute her strokes precisely.
Steffi Graf wedded Andre Agassi, a tennis idol in his own right. She also held the World No. 1 ranking for 377 weeks. In 2004, Graf was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame.

Few female tennis players can hit the ball as hard as Serena Williams. She is usually recognised as the most potent female athlete in the history of the sport. Since the late 1990s, Serena and her elder sister, Venus, have dominated women’s tennis.
They have won 14 Grand Slam Doubles titles together. Serena is now the second most successful woman in Open Era history, with 23 grand slam titles.
She won the Australian Open seven times, three times in France, seven times in Wimbledon, and six times in the United States.
This total of 23 is the most in the Open Era by any player. She has also consistently won Grand Slams in the doubles and mixed doubles categories.
Serena’s sport has stood the test of time and competition admirably. Her Grand Slam victories span 18 years, beginning in 1999, with her most recent triumph coming at the 2017 Australian Open.
Serena was out of competitive tennis for most of 2017 due to pregnancy, but she has reached four Grand Slam finals without winning her 24th title.
Making the finals of the Wimbledon and US Opens in 2018 and 2019 was undoubtedly a step in the right direction, and everything points to Serena staying competitive even after turning 40 in 2021.
1 Margaret Court – 24 titles
With 24 titles, Margaret Court is the most successful female player in history. She also won 19 Grand Slam women’s doubles titles and 21 mixed doubles titles, bringing her total to 64.
She is widely regarded as the greatest female tennis player of all time. Her 11 victories at the Australian Open still hold the record for the single Grand Slam victories in women’s tennis.
Court also has five French Open titles, three Wimbledon titles, and five US Open.
