It is not just the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title race that is taking a shape. The battle for the top marksman accolade is hotting up too, with two Congolese imports armed for the kill.

Second-placed Vipers head to Kavumba Recreation Grounds this afternoon to face Soltilo Bright Stars seeking to cut the four-point deficit on leaders KCCA.

Lanky forward Ceasar Manzoki, who netted the solitary goal in their last win over Tooro United to make it six goals so far, is pursuing more than just victory.

Tomorrow, table leaders commonly referred to as the Kasasiro boys will welcome reigning champions Express FC at the MTN Phillip Omondi stadium- Lugogo.

KCCA maintains the good run of games this season, fresh from defeating struggling Police FC 3-1 and sharing the spoils with SC Villa away from home in a 1-1 statement in the traditional derby.

They currently sit top of the table with 27 points from 11 matches while Express lies fifth with 19 points with both sides having played 11 games so far.

Express drew away from home with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) 

having grabbed all three vital points against Gadaffi at home in Wankulukuku stadium.

Express gaffer Wasswa Bbosa has always maintained that his side remains in contention for the title despite their slow start to the season.

With eight points adrift of both sides, Express must overcome KCCA to deduce the gap if they are to keep their title hopes alive.

However, this will be an uphill task ahead of tomorrow’s encounter with KCCA tactician Morley Byekwaso, the man to beat this season.
