Premier League fans are in utter shock after Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool news.
By season’s end, Klopp will be departing Liverpool, the team has confirmed. Klopp stated he is “running out of energy” during his Friday press conference.
“I will leave the club at the end of the season. I understand that it’s a shock,” he said in a video posted by Liverpool.

He said that he informed the club’s bosses of his desire to leave the Premier League club in November 2023.
They were discussing about potential players the club could sign in the next season and he broke the news of his departure.
He says this pronouncement shocked him as well because he never thought he would ever get it out.

“When we sat there together talking about potential signings, the next summer camp and can we go wherever, the thought came up, ‘I am not sure I am here then anymore’ and I was surprised myself by that. I obviously start thinking about it.”
Xabi Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen and a former midfielder for Liverpool, is currently regarded as the early favorite to succeed Klopp.
How Long Did Jurgen Klopp Coach Liverpool?
Klopp managed Liverpool for nine seasons. He took over the team in 2015 and Anfield supporters got hope of a better football season with his management.
He brought with him his contagious zeal, counter-pressing strategies, and unshakable faith in his players. The nineteen-year wait for a Premier League title turned into a reality.
With Liverpool, Klopp has taken home six trophies, including the Champions League trophy in 2019 and the Premier League victory in 2020.
In addition to continuing to play in the FA Cup and Europa League, Liverpool is presently leading the Premier League and advanced to the Carabao Cup final this past Wednesday.
Klopp had signed a two-year contract deal with Anfield in April 2022, extending his stay with the team until 2026.
Brendan Rodgers saw potential in him and poached him from Borussia Dortmund where he steered the team to two Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012.
He also captained Dortmund to the 2013 Champions League final but lost to Bayern Munich in a historic final played at Wembley.
His entry to Liverpool in 2015 gave Rodgers a ray of hope and he was never wrong in his decision.
What Made Jurgen Klopp to Leave Liverpool?
The 56-year-old football manager explained that the struggle of the team in the 2022-23 season ate him up and he wasn’t sure he would last another season.

“Last season was kind of a super-difficult season and there were moments when at other clubs probably the decision would have been, ‘Come on, thank you very much for everything but probably we should split here, or end it here’ That didn’t happen here, obviously,” he stated.
However, Klopp chose to stick with his team with the aim of bringing them back to the top of the chart which he succeeded.
But, he fears things may change and he feels it is draining staying on after decades on the pitch.
“For me it was super, super, super-important that I can help to bring this team back on to the rails. It was all I was thinking about. When I realised pretty early that happened, it’s a really good team with massive potential and a super age group, super characters and all that, then I could start thinking about myself again and that was the outcome. It is not what I want to [do], it is just what I think is 100 per cent right.”
Will Klopp Take Up Another Coaching Job?
The German is not taking up any coaching in England. He implores that he had it, the good the bad and the ugly with Premier League as Liverpool’s coach.
“If you ask me, ‘Will you ever work as a manager again?’ I would say now no,” he added. “But I don’t know obviously how that will feel because I never had the situation. What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool.”
