- Mason Mount transfer from Chelsea to Manchester United is a done deal
- He joined Chelsea Academy when he was six years old
- He leaves at 24 for Manchester United
Mason Mount transfer from Chelsea to Manchester United is a done deal and he is glad he made this move worth £60m ($76,244,100).
He completed his medical and bid farewell to his Chelsea fans via Instagram on Tuesday night.
Mount’s transfer deal has an upfront £55 million down payment and another £5 million in performance-based bonuses.
Sky Sports News reports that Mount is aware of how strongly dependent the add-ons are on performance and success. The five-year contract from United includes a one-year option for the England international.
He claims that at this point in his career, the deal and decision to leave Stamford Bridge is appropriate for him.
The 24-year-old had a year left on his contract with Chelsea which turned down United’s bid for Mount three times before caving in.

In his farewell message, Mount thanked his Chelsea supporters for their unwavering support adding that he enjoyed his stay at the club.
He recalls that the last 18 years are unforgettable because he spent them with Chelsea ever since he was six years old.
“So I wanted to tell you directly how grateful I’ve been for all of your support over the last 18 years. I know some of you won’t be happy with my decision, but it’s what is right for me at this moment in my career,” Mount stated in his farewell.
“I joined Chelsea when I was six years old and we’ve been through a lot together. Winning the Youth Cup, my player of the year awards, the Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the unforgettable night where we won the Champions League.
He thanked his coaches and managers for supporting him right from the day he got into Chelsea Academy. The English footballer considers the players he played alongside as his brothers which made his life at Stamford Bridge worthwhile.
Mount is Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s first acquisition of the summer as the Dutch manager tries to bolster his team in the wake of United’s qualification for next season’s Champions League.

He has 195 appearances and 33 goals for Chelsea since his debut in 2019. However, he missed the end of the domestic campaign due to an injury.
Mount played for Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League final victory against Manchester City and won 1-0. With the Blues, he also captured the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
The Blues had their worst season in the Premier League with a 12th-place finish which was a position they held 25 years ago. He is the latest Chelsea player to exit the Blues after their worst season ever.
Rasmus Hojlund’s transfer to United from Atalanta is still under discussion. Although there is a disparity in worth, Hojlund has expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford.
The club has a valuation for the player as well, and if they believe Atalanta is overpaying for the guy, they will move on to alternative options.
Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt is another player that United is considering.
