He signed a six-year contract with the Primeira Liga club and spent his first season at Real Madrid Castilla on loan. The talented midfielder then returned to his parent club and was once again loaned to a European club, Monaco. After his one-year loan with Monaco, he rejoined the club on loan for another season. Monaco and Rio Ave agreed on a deal for Fabinho’s permanent transfer, and he joined the French side on a four-year deal.
