According to reports, Jorginho’s move to Arsenal is in its final stages. It’s just a matter of time before the Gunners announce the midfielder as their January signing. And his transfer leads to the question how many trophies has Jorginho won with Chelsea. 

Jorginho joined Chelsea from Napoli in the summer of 2018 for around 50 million euros. He was initially supposed to join Manchester City before his move to Stamford Bridge, as per Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

The Italian midfielder has been a key player for Chelsea since his debut on August 5, 2018, against Manchester City. His impressive performance with the Blues has earned him the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award.

He was included in the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season, 2020-21 UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season and 2021 FIFA FIFPro World 11 in 2021. 

On November 29, 2021, Jorginho placed 3rd in the Ballon d’Or behind Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski. 

What Trophies Does Jorginho Have? 

Jorginho has won several trophies while playing for Chelsea. He has also been a champion when playing for Napoli and the Italian national team. 

Jorginho’s first major trophy was the Coppa Italia, which he won while at Napoli during the 2013-14 season. He played the full 90 minutes as Napoli defeated Fiorentina 3-1 in the finals. Jorginho also played in the Supercoppa Italiana as Napoli defeated Juventus in penalty shoot-outs to claim the title. 

His first trophy as a Chelsea player was the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League. He featured in the 4-1 win over Arsenal in the final at Olympic Stadium, Baku. 

Jorginho also won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea. With the Italian national team, he won the Euros tournament.

Has Jorginho Won The Premier League? 

No. The midfield maestro has not won the Premier League since joining Chelsea in 2018 from Napoli. However, he has won other trophies with the Blues. 

Jorginho could win his first Premier League title at the end of the 2022-23 season if Mikel Arteta‘s boys claim the title.

Has Jorginho Won The World Cup? 

Jorginho has won trophies while playing for club and country. However, he is yet to win a World Cup trophy with the Italian national team. 

Jorginho made his debut for Italy in 2016 under manager Antonio Conte. He came on as a substitute in the last minute as Italy drew 1-1 with Spain. Since then, he has made 45 more appearances for the Azzurri. 

His major trophy with Italy was the 2020 UEFA European Championship. He was part of Italy’s squad that finished third in the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League.

Jorginho is proactive at defensive transitions, and this can be shown by his willingness to quickly engage his opponent and counter-press. He is also good at closing behind advanced full-backs so as to delay counters.

Despite being a defensive midfielder, Jorginho can also play as a central midfielder or box-to-box midfielder. However, he usually plays a more withdrawn creative role as a deep-lying playmaker in front of the back line. Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel described him as one of the very best midfielders.
