As a reward for Saudi Arabia players’ remarkable victory over Argentina in Qatar World Cup, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud will gift each of them a new -Rolls Royce.
The Green Falcons victory over Argentina with top players such as Lionel Messi shook the pre-tournament favourites in a dramatic fashion. Malay Mail reports that the Crown Prince sees them as heroes for posting a 2-1 win against Messi’s team.
Before this gift, Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced a public holiday to celebrate the national team’s first victory. Such a holiday means endless feasting by Saudi citizens on rice, mutton and chicken.
According to numerous accounts, Bin Salman promised the team a Rolls-Royce for each member, with the price of the opulent Phantom starting at £363,600 ($439,628). For Bin Salman, who reportedly has an $8 billion net worth, that amount would be equivalent to £9.4 million ($11,365,530).

The V12 sports automobile, which has 48 valves, and direct gasoline injection, are worth about €500,000. Its maximum output is 460 horsepower (338 kW) and 720 Nm (530 lb-ft) of torque.
The lowest-ranked team at the World Cup – position 51 by FIFA ranking – Saudi Arabia, defeated Argentina in their Group C opening, snapping a 36-game winning streak. Saudi Arabia is currently rated 51st in the world, according to FIFA.
In one of the greatest World Cup upsets ever, goals from Saleh Al Shehri and Salem Al Dawsari occurred after Lionel Messi’s opening strike.
Saudi Arabia’s next opponent is Poland on Saturday, and a victory there would put them a long way closer to making it to the competition’s knockout stages.
However, head coach Herve Renard is approaching the victory over Argentina as merely one of three challenging group games, putting all of the attention on the upcoming match.
Prior to the game, Renard said that the victory had made no difference citing that Saudi remains the lowest-ranked team by FIFA. The French coach noted that The Green Falcons are treating this victory with a pinch of salt.
For Saudi players, keeping focus and remaining humble will get them to the final destination: clinching the World Cup title.

“Nothing has changed. We are still the lowest team in the group in terms of ranking and experience. So nothing changes in our mind or the favourites for the World Cup,” he said post-Tuesday’s match.
“We know where we come from and we keep our humility because if we don’t have the humility, we won’t be able to play a good game tomorrow,” he added.
The former Cambridge United manager is leading Saudi’s Green Falcons. He will play Mexico and Poland in Group D and want to improve on their World Cup performance.
Even though they appear to be in a challenging group, Renard’s hiring as their coach in July 2019 has given them new hope going into the tournament. He has extensive international experience, having coached Morocco to victory in the 2018 Russia World Cup four years ago.
