- The FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage is gradually coming to a conclusion
- Several clubs have already reserved spots for the Round of 16
- Others aren’t doing too well, though, and they will disappoint big time
The FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage is gradually closing, and the pitch’s action is improving. We are beginning to see a pattern for the knockout stages with only one round of games remaining. Several clubs have already reserved spots for the Round of 16.
Favourites from the event, such as Brazil, Portugal, and France, are among them. Some top teams have had trouble getting started, disappointing many fans betting on them. After the first two game weeks, their chances of making it to the Round of 16 have significantly decreased.
It is disheartening, but football is a game of emotions. Winning and losing is emotive, but it brings a pair of different feeling; victory or despair. However, this is the rule of the game, and nothing changes this.
With this in mind, these teams have a bleak future, staring at a knockout in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Portugal defeated Uruguay on Monday by a score of 2-0 to secure a spot in the Round of 16. Currently, in fourth place in Group H, Uruguay has a very narrow chance of moving on to the knockout rounds.
Luis Suarez and the company must defeat Ghana in order to proceed. Uruguay will advance if Portugal defeats South Korea or draws with them.
South Korea and Uruguay will be deadlocked with four points each if South Korea defeats Portugal. Goal differential would then be used to divide the two teams.
USA
On Tuesday, the United States will play Iran, and it’s a game they absolutely must win, lest they become victims of the FIFA World Cup 2022 knockout. Wales’ chances of moving on are very limited after drawing one game and losing one, while Iran and England both had victories.
USA must triumph on Tuesday. Losses or draws will result in their elimination. Iran has already shown that they are no pushovers with their 2-0 victory over Wales.
BELGIUM
In the opening match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Belgium defeated Canada. In their second group stage match against Morocco, they were predicted to triumph and guarantee their spot in the Round of 16. However, the Belgian Red Devils were defeated 2-0 and are now third in Group F behind Croatia and Morocco.
Belgium must defeat Croatia in their subsequent match to move on to the knockout rounds. However, even if they draw with Croatia, they might still progress if Canada defeats Morocco and Belgium has a higher goal differential than Morocco.
But Roberto Martinez’s team will be eliminated if Morocco defeats Canada and Belgium loses to Croatia.
ARGENTINA
Argentina’s condition is not as dire compared to the other countries on this list. But it’s still extremely possible that La Albiceleste won’t advance to the knockout rounds of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
With three points, Lionel Messi and the company are already lagging behind group leaders Poland by one point in Group C. If Argentina can defeat Poland, they will advance to the Round of 16. However, if they lose, they’ll have to go.
Argentina will be eliminated if they draw against Poland and Saudi Arabia defeats Mexico. Argentina will need either Mexico to defeat Poland or Saudi Arabia to draw in order to advance despite Argentina’s draw with Poland.

At the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar Knockout stage, Germany is facing the prospect of losing in the group stage for the second time in a row. Die Mannschaft settled for a 1-1 draw against Spain after falling to Japan in their opening match by a score of 2-1. With just one point after two games, they are currently last in Group E.
To begin with, Germany must defeat Costa Rica on Thursday in order to have a chance of moving on to the knockout rounds. Spain will be necessary for Germany to defeat Japan even if they defeat Costa Rica. Spain will then take first place in the group, and Germany will come in second.
Germany may advance with a victory even if Japan and Spain play to a draw if they score a greater goal.
