Tom Brady and wife divorce after 13 years of marriage

• Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have decided to end their marriage after 13 years. 
• Tom Brady divorce comes a few months after putting an end to his short-lived retirement. 

Tom Brady and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, are officially single after announcing their divorce on Friday via Instagram. 

The two superstars in their respective fields said they decided to part ways amicably with gratitude for their time together.

In his statement, Brady said they would continue to work together as parents as they give their children the love they deserve. 

“We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude, for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the centre of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.” Part of Brady’s post on Instagram. 

Gisele Bundchen echoed Brady’s words as she said they had finalized their divorce. 

“With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve.” She wrote. 

Tom Brandy divorce comes just months after putting an end to his short-lived retirement. The talented footballer announced his retirement in February.

However, he changed his mind 40 days later, saying he would be back in action for his 23rd NFL season. 

According to CNN, Brady and Bundchen had been living separately since September. The quarterback, who currently plays for Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the fashion model had hired divorce attorneys to deal with their marital issues. 

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen met through a mutual friend back in 2006. They dated for two years before taking their relationship to the next level of marriage in early 2009. 

Family members and a few friends attended the wedding ceremony, which happened at a Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California. 

Tom Brady and his model wife would then do a second wedding in Costa Rica nearly two months later. Just like the first wedding, this one was also attended by family members and a few invited friends. 

The couple had their first child, Benjamin, born in late 2009. Their second child, a girl named Vivian, was born in 2012. 

Tom Brady has another child, 15-years-old Jack Moynahan, who was born when he was dating actress, Bridget Moynahan.

Why are Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen divorcing?

Reports of tension in Tom Brady’s marriage have been circulating since he decided to return to the NFL.

And during an interview with Elle Magazine last month, Gisele Bundchen said she had concerns about her husband returning to the field. 

“This is a very violent sport, and I have my children, and I would like him to be more present. I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for (them). He needs to follow his joy, too.”
