During this summer transfer window, Brazilian stars Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus have switched teams in the English Premier League. On the other side, Casemiro has joined the Premier League from La Liga. 

Here, we will discuss the top five most expensive Brazilian signings in the men’s English football league system.

5. Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City to Arsenal): €52.2 million

Gabriel Jesus joined the Premier League for the first time in January 2017. Manchester City paid 32 million euros for the lethal attacker who had a successful period at the club. 

Jesus became one of the most expensive Brazilian signings in the Premier League this summer when he completed a move to Arsenal. The attacker joined the Gunners from Manchester City for around 52.2 million euros. 

Jesus is proving to be worth the amount Arsenal spent on him at the start of this summer transfer window. He impressed during the pre-season friendlies and has continued to do so in the Premier League.

The Brazilian sharpshooter is one of the key players in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad this season. 

4. Richarlison (Everton to Tottenham Hotspurs): €58 million

Richarlison became one of the most expensive Brazilian signings in the English Premier League when he joined Tottenham Hotspurs. 

The attacker completed his move to Tottenham Hotspurs from Everton for 58 million euros. Richarlison is a headstrong centre-forward with a knack for the spectacular. He has been a menace for Premier League defenders since his days with Watford. 

Richarlison will not regularly feature for the London side because of the presence of Harry Kane. However, his quick passing, versatility and work rate make him a great player and worth the amount spent on him by the Spurs. 

3. Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk to Manchester United): €59 million 

Fred joined Manchester United from Shakhtar Donetsk ahead of the 2018-19 campaign for 59 million euros. The central midfielder is one of the most expensive Brazilian signings in the Premier League. 

Prior to joining Manchester United, Fred had a decent season with Shakhtar Donetsk scoring four goals and recording seven assists. However, after joining Manchester United, he has failed to continue with the impressive performance.

Fred has made over 100 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring six goals and registering seven assists. The midfielder has been criticized several times due to his lack of vision and sluggishness. 

2. Alisson Becker (AS Roma to Liverpool): €62.5 million

Alisson Becker is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The talented goalie became one of the most expensive Brazilian signings in the Premier League when he joined Liverpool for 62.5 million euros. 

Alisson has been crucial for the Reds since making his Premier League debut in 2018. The Brazilian is good with the ball at his feet and knows how to organize his defenders. 

Becker has won the Golden Glove twice (2018-29 and 2021-22). He has helped Liverpool win several trophies, including the UEFA Champions League in his debut season and the Premier League.

Casemiro established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world during his time with Real Madrid. He is not exactly the best distributor, but his presence in the midfield has always been noticed due to his defending traits. 

Casemiro became the most expensive Brazilian signing in the Premier League this summer when he joined Manchester United. The Brazilian international completed his move to the Red Devils for 70.6 million euros.

He made his Premier League debut last weekend, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
