Mohamed Salah was born on June 15, 1992, in Nagrig, Bosyoun, Egypt. The Egyptian developed a passion for football when he was still young. As a child, Salah loved Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldinho Gaucho and Italian legend, Fransesco Totti.

Mo Salah played for local teams in Egypt while he was still a child. The Egyptian forward joined Ittihad Basyoun in 2004 when he was 12 years old. Salah played as a full-back until he joined Othmason Tanta in 2005. Salah’s coach at Othmason Tanta converted him into a forward.
