This is primarily due to a lack of game time the previous season and a desire for new opportunities.

Other European clubs are interested in the 27-year-old, but the Blues are ahead of the pack. The club is confident in signing the former Liverpool player under the new ownership.

Furthermore, because the player is willing to move, the Blues may be able to negotiate a low transfer fee for him.

There are numerous benefits to signing Sterling during this summer window. Bringing the player to Stamford Bridge will give the club an advantage as the season begins.

The following are five reasons why the Blues should sign the player:

1. Sterling has more to give

Contrary to popular belief, Raheem Sterling still has a lot to offer. The 27-year-old is well into his prime. Lack of playing time pushed him to the winger’s periphery, but a regular playing role will undoubtedly have him firing on all cylinders.

Despite the entry of Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez’s remarkable performances on the other wing, it was widely assumed that Sterling would become less critical.

Last season, the winger scored 17 goals and assisted on nine assists for the Citizens throughout all competitions. His goal-scoring competence remains intact, and he can play at the highest level for many more years. Plenty more to come in the future.

2. He will be a crucial figure to kickstart the rebuild at Chelsea

Chelsea FC is entering a new era. The Blues face an uncertain but promising future with a new buyer and possibly new players. Many players have already left the club, and more will follow.

Romelu Lukaku will join Inter, while Chrisitan Pulisic will go for more playing time. Due to the outgoings, Chelsea will look to sign players to rebuild the team.

Sterling would be a perfect addition to the team to help kickstart the rebuild. The club is also considering bringing in Ousmane Dembele, who would add even more value to the team.

3. Raheem Sterling has a Premier League experience

Raheem Sterling made a name for himself early in his career while playing for Liverpool. He appeared in 129 games for Liverpool, scoring 23 goals and assisting 25 others.

The player was then purchased by Manchester City for a whopping around $67 million when he was only 20 years old. Sterling has spent the last decade in the Premier League.

This provides him with extensive Premier League experience. Chelsea must have players who are used to competing in the future.

Sterling will bring years of trophy-winning experience to the blues, which will be invaluable. After all, Sterling has already made 320 league appearances.

4. The incentive of Raheem matches starting regularly

Numerous factors will favour Chelsea in their pursuit of Raheem Sterling. One of the main reasons the winger would be interested in joining is the chance to play more regularly.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has not guaranteed Sterling a starting spot. He appeared in only five of 12 UEFA Champions League matches and was ineligible for nine Premier League games.

Tuchel is a big fan of the winger and believes he fits the club’s style of play. The move could make sense for all parties

5. Easy on Wallet

Raheem Sterling’s contract at Manchester City expires in a year. In addition to the player seeking a new opportunity, this lowers his price even further.

With Romelu Lukaku on the verge of leaving, CFC could use some of the funds to bring in Sterling. According to reports in England, the Blues have made a bid in the region of £35 million.

While this is less than Man City’s valuation, a higher offer could seal the deal. Sterling was raised in London and has family there.

He wants to play regular football so he can make the final England national team for the FIFA World Cup in 2022. All indications point to Chelsea making a solid bid for the player
