Arsenal has continued to retain a strong interest in the Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic but the deal seems to be difficult to reach an agreement this month.
The striker managed to score 18 goals in 22 appearances for Fiorentina this season making Arsenal management have a strong interest in the Serbian striker doubting the future of the former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazatte.
The Gunners may have a hard time signing in the striker this month due to the size of the transfer fee needed to bring in the Fiorentina striker. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has agreed that is a need to invest much in the forward options for the football club following the dropping of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang captaincy over disciplinary reasons and Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazatte into the final contracts of six months.
According to the Gunners manager, the team looks forward to working hard on the new arrivals citing they are open to making a big signing if it is financially viable. The Serbian striker came to prominence last season after making 40 appearances for Fiorentina and managing to score 21 goals and has continued with his impressive form with 18 goals during the 22 games this campaign.
The Fiorentina striker has 18 months remaining on his contract although he has not spoken about signing a new deal with the Series A side. According to the Italian sources, there is a belief that the 21-year old striker has a minor chance of leaving the club this month citing that he may probably remain with Fiorentina, who are currently in the sixth position in series A looking forward to pushing for their European qualification.
The Italian sources further implicated that Vlahovic prefers joining a side competing in the Champions League. Though Arsenal has not been able to qualify for the Championship competition over the past four seasons, despite currently being fourth in the Premier League.
The good relationship between Fiorentina and Gunners gives the club a greater chance to secure the Serbian striker.
Gunner’s midfielder Lucas Torreria is currently at the Italian club on loan and including him as part of the deal for the Serbia international has not been left out. Torreria stands as an option for Fiorentina making his loan move permanent. Dusan Vlahovic joined Fiorentina in 2018 from Partizan Belgrade after making a greater impression in Italy. The striker has also scored 7 times in 14 games for Serbia. Among
Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham are the Premier League clubs linked with the move for the Fiorentina sensation Dusan Vlahovic. As the January transfer window edges towards the mid-point, the club continues to have a strong interest in the 21-year old Serbian striker.
