A possible lineup for Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s successor is keeping fans in a pensive mood.

Calls for Solskjaer’s exit from Old Trafford increased over the weekend after United’s 4-2 loss to Leicester.

The away match at King Power Stadium incensed calls for the gaffer’s exit from Old Trafford.

Even United players admitting that a change was being delayed.

French midfielder Paul Pogba while speaking after the game spoke of the needed changes at Manchester United.

He told BBC that, “But now you have to find what’s the key of this change in this game that we lose because I think we deserved to lose today”.

Speaking of a streak of bad decisions lately at Old Trafford, Pogba said change is paramount.

“We need to find something, we need to change something”.

With United’s three fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham, the Norwegian’s job remain in the balance.

Sources now say that Old Trafford has lined up four possible replacements when push comes to shove.

Who Are The Coaches Likely To Replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

Antonio Conte

The former Chelsea coach is currently jobless. United is considering tapping on his expertise given his flawless Premier League record in the past.

Conte’s stint with Chelsea wasn’t so rosy but he still fits what Old Trafford would want.

The former coach recently weighed in on Chelsea’s performance and said that current coach Thomas Tuchel is under exploiting Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku is Chelsea’s golden boy but he feels that the club is yet to tap on his full potential.

Conte gave his two cents following Chelsea’s Champion’s League match with Juventus. The Blues lost 1-0 in the game prompting Conte to question Conte’ tactical approach.

Erik Ten Hag

Hag is currently the Ajax coach but remains an eye candy in Europe. His track record in the Netherlands speaks of a mind that could change Manchester United’s fortunes.

Hag is envied for his outstanding attack tactics that would work well for Old Trafford. Further, his great friendship with Donny van de Beek would augur well for the team.

Zinedine Zidane

The Frenchman enjoys a great relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo having worked with him in Real Madrid.

During his tenure in Real, the club scooped La Liga title. Besides, Zidane enjoys a cordial relationship with Raphael Varane.

Zidane’s record speaks of a coach who brings out the best of his players.

Last month, there were reports that Zidane was being considered as a replacement for PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino.

Zidane, going by reports, resisted this move by PSG citing that his priority is coaching France ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

But, PSG is adamant saying that they will allow him to take up the two roles together.

“He resists because he wants to coach France, but at PSG they reminded him that the next World Cup in Qatar is within the season and they would let him combine the two jobs.”

Graham Potter

In his history of being a football coach in the English Premier League (EPL), Potter never managed a big club.

He has been to Brighton and his work there is fascinating. While the fact that he never managed a big club like United may work against him, he still remains at the top for consideration.

Ole Gunnar Not Quitting

Solskjaer refused to throw in the towel despite risking the sack after Man Utd’s disastrous defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Manchester United was thrashed 5-0 at home by Liverpool in one of the worst defeats in the club’s history.

Sunday’s 5-0 loss was Man Utd’s third-largest home defeat in the Premier League and dramatically increases the pressure on Solskjaer’s tenure as United manager.

However, amidst talk that he risks being dismissed before Man Utd’s next game, Solskjaer remained buoyant despite admitting it was a dark day for the club.

Speaking to Sky sports after the humiliating defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he is not quitting.

“I have come too far, we have come too far as a group and we are too close to give up now,” stated the United Coach.

“We are at rock-bottom, we cannot feel any worse than this…It is the darkest day I have had leading these players. Not good enough individually or as a team.”
