Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is all praises for the club’s goalkeeper David de Gea following a clash with Villareal Wednesday night.

The Red Devils manager says De Gea is the “best goalkeeper” he has seen so far.

Solskjaer’s praise came after United’s sterling performance at Old Trafford for the Champions League.

De Gea saved the team six times after the numerous opening to score by Villareal.

Man United called it day with a 2-1 win – Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the last goal in the 95th minute.

De Gea’s performance according to pundits was some sort of redemption after a troubling Europa League final last year.

When addressing the press, Solskjaer said the Red Devils are happy they had De Gea to save the day.

“Thankfully we had the best goalkeeper in the world tonight. David was fantastic. Very happy with his performance,” he said.

“You’re probably right that he had a difficult summer after that (Europa League final). Of course he went to the Euros, didn’t play there, but he’s really come back with a determination and a belief and a work rate that I’ve enjoyed… he saved us tonight, we have to be realistic and say that.”

He added: “We’ve got two good keepers with Tom (Heaton) and Dean (Henderson) as well, but today David deserves, for me, man of the match.”

The three points pushed United up the chart after resounding defeat by Young Boys in their first Champions League match away.

Of the saving goal by Ronaldo in the 95th minute, Solskjaer described it as a normal act at Old Trafford.

He says even the toughest teams are easy to beat with Ronaldo on the pitch.

“. We have to throw caution to the wind and we got lucky in the end. They are very tough to beat, but when you have Cristiano on the pitch you always have a chance.”
