Five Premier League players who deserve clubs upgrade - Sports Leo

The 2020/2021 Premier League season started with a romp with exciting football, despite the Covid-19 pandemic that has slowed down sporting activities.

Some teams started off with aplomb while others seem to carry their fatigued character of the previous season into a new one.

Some players have stood out regardless of results, and perhaps they would do well to move to greener pastures to fulfil their potential and win trophies.

We look at five players that surely would to well to move to elite clubs.

5. Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United

The Portugal international arrived at Old Trafford in January 2020, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Red Devils.

The Portuguese has been instrumental at Manchester United and has been named Player of the Month multiple times.

His impact has been impressive and his performances have lifted the quality of the squad, boosting the morale of the club as well.

This season he has already scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in sixteen matches and he is one of the reasons United are Premier League title contenders.

His creativity and skill on the ball have bailed out United from bad results on many occasions.

It is a shame he will not show his talent in the Champions League stage this season and probably next season depending with the team’s performance.

Unless United win titles and get their mojo back, clubs could be sniffing around the attacking midfielder soon.

4. Ademola Lookman – RB Leipzig

The Englishman made a move a loan move Fulham from parent club RB Leipzig and has been a standout player for the Premier League side.

Fulham are struggling to keep up with the pace in the Premier League as they sit 18th in the log.

Lookman looks to resurrect his form at London’s oldest football club playing professionally, which has given him a platform to display his ability.

So far he has netted twice with two assists on his name in 12 Premier League matches.

His move to RB Leipzig was due to his lacklustre performance in Everton, another Premier League club but he is involved in any threat to opposition defenders.

Playing at Craven Cottage would boost his confidence and at 23-years-old he has bags of potential to potentially move to a bigger club and cement himself as a football star.

3. Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace

The Ivorian star has been phenomenal for Crystal Palace for the longest time.

Since growing in South London and playing for a South London club, Zaha has risen in the ranks of Palace to prove to be a crucial player of the squad.

He is a regular starter for the Eagles and he has been loyal to the club in spite of transfer rumours to Everton, Arsenal and Paris-Saint Germain.

The team depend on him for goals, despite coach Roy Hodgson rebuffing the comments.

Zaha is known to flourish on the wing and his finishing touch in the final third is lethal. He has found the back of the net multiple times and there is no doubt he is a talented attacker.

At 28-years-old, he is at the prime of his footballing career and a move to a bigger and more successful club would do him well unless he warms the bench.

2. Jack Grealish – Aston Villa

The Englishman is in no doubt one of the hottest properties in the Premier League and news have circled of his potential move away from Aston Villa.

Manchester United are the forerunners for the signature of the attacking midfielder, with Manchester City and Liverpool also interested.

He has been the main man for the Villains, helping them to avoid relegation last season and getting results on multiple occasions.

He recently signed a five-year deal at Villa Park but this would not stop potential buyers from sniffing around the 25-year-old.

United are still interested in him but will need to sell unsettled Paul Pogba to finance the deal but Bruno Fernandes fills the void he would fill at Old Trafford.

He has the creativity, pace and power with a great finish that would benefit any club he moves to.

His price tag is the only challenge to buy the midfielder but would certainly be worth the purchase for what he brings to the squad.

1.Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Arsenal

After a breathtaking run at Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal coughed £56 million, making Aubameyang the most expensive Gabonese player of all time.

He is another crucial player for the Gunners as he is the captain, leading by example.

However, after the FA Community win over Liverpool, and signing a new bumper contract at Emirates Stadium, his form has taken a dip.

His lack of prowess in front of goal could be attributed to his playing position and his squad role but he still has more to give to a team.

Still at 31-years of age, looking back at his quality on the pitch, he has saved Arsenal many times and carried the team on several occasions as well.

Arsenal are holding on to their skipper despite the age as he offers so much to the team and would be a huge gap to fill should he leave the club.
