Egyptian 'king' Salah comes to the rescue of homeless man - Sports Leo

Egyptian Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah once again proved his quality off the football pitch, after video footage surfaced over the weekend showing the player helping a homeless man who was being harassed at a petrol station.

In the video from September 28, Salah can be seen talking to a group of young men who were clearly bothering the man, and the footballer quickly diffused the situation.

The man Salah helped – David Craig told thenational.ae: “He heard what a group of lads were saying to me, then turned to them and said: ‘That could be you in a few years.’

“I only knew I wasn’t hallucinating when Mo incredibly handed me £100. What a complete legend,” the 50-year-old explained.

In June, a donation of 15 million US dollars was made by Salah as his home nation battled the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Salah was Liverpool’s top scorer in the league last season with 19 strikes as his side were crowned champions. Salah ended four goals behind Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy who was the top-scorer last season in the EPL with 23 strikes.

In the 2018/2019 English Premier League season, Senegal’s Sadio Mane shared the Golden Boot crown with Salah and Arsenal’s Gabonese front-man Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, all three having netted 22 times for their respective clubs.

Salah is already a two-time winner of the African Player of the Year award – claiming the title in 2017 and 2018.

The former Chelsea player in his debut season (2017/2018) for Liverpool, Salah scored a phenomenal 32 goals from 36 league matches.

In the 2018/2019 season, he scored 22 goals after appearing in all 38 matches.
