Etoile du Sahel confirm Juan Carlos Garrido as new coach

Etoile du Sahel on Wednesday appointed Spaniard Juan Carlos Garrido as head coach until June 2021, as a replacement for Faouzi Benzarti.

“I’m glad to be working with Etoile du Sahel. The club has a great history and a big fanbase,” Garrido said.

“The way this team plays and the passion that drives its players is the main reason I’m here.

“My main objective is the Caf Champions League title, and it’s the same for the players. This is not an easy group we are facing so we don’t want to underestimate any teams. However, we are aware that we are amongst the best teams so we want to start the Caf Champions League journey on a positive note.”

Garrido will first test the waters with Etoile at the Tunisian league this weekend before facing Egyptian side Al Ahly on November 29 in Sousse.
