Benin striker Desire Segbe Azankpo, who was part of the squad at the recent Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Egypt, has joined English club Oldham Athletic on a one-year deal.
The contract could increase to another year if both parties reach an agreement.
The striker spent last season at Slovak club FK Senica, where he made 29 appearances and scored six goals.
Azankpo began his career at French side FC Metz before he left to join AS Jeunesse d’Esch in Luxembourg.
The 26-year-old has represented Benin five times and helped them reach the quarterfinals of Afcon.
He becomes the eighth summer signing Oldham have made before the season gets underway in early August.
