Kenyan Cornelius Tuwei and Uganda’s Winnie Nanyondo were among the stand-out performers at the 57th Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland, on Tuesday.
Tuwei won the 800m in a time of 1:46.37.
Nanyondo clocked 4:06.21 for a stadium record in the women’s 1 500m. Ethiopia’s Taye Fantu was second in a 4:06.27 season’s best.
Meanwhile, in the 3 000m steeplechase, last year’s winner Kenyan Nicholas Bett was beaten by American Andy Bayer in 8:18.29. Bett had a time of 8:21.20.
