Growing up in a family with wrestling prowess, Curtis Axel developed a passion for the sport at a young age. He trained under Harley Race, Brad Rheingans and his father who had the nickname “Mr Perfect”.
On 12 July 2007, Curtis Axel made his professional wrestling debut at World League Wrestling (WLW). He teamed with Ted DiBiase Jr. in his debut match to defeat Dinn T. Moore and Branden Tatum. They won the fight via disqualification.
Curtis would then go on a nine-month winning streak at WLW. His amazing run came to an end during his match with Wade Chism.
On 31 March 2007, Curtis and his family represented his father at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, accepting the award on his behalf. Afterwards, he signed a deal with WWE and was assigned to the promotion’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

On 11 September 2008, he teamed with Sebastian Slate to win the Florida Tag Team Championship after defeating Gavin Spears and Nic Nemeth. He would win the tag team title three more times before joining WWE’s main roster. He also won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship.
Curtis Axel made his main roster debut as a member of The Nexus. He would later win the WWE Tag Team Championship with David Otunga. As part of The B-Team, he won the WWE Tag Team Championship for a second time with Bo Dallas.
His tenure with WWE ended in 2020; however, he returned in April 2022 as a producer. Curtis was released from his contract three months later.
