Oscar De La Hoya debuted a casual, activewear-inspired apparel line in 2004. He founded a combat sport promotional firm, Golden Boy Promotions, in 2002.

Golden Boy Enterprises announced the formation of Golden Boy Enterprises in 2005. The company focuses on urban development in Latino communities.

In 2007, Sports and Entertainment Publications, LLC acquired KO Magazine, The Ring and World Boxing Magazine. The publication is a subsidiary of Golden Boy Enterprises.

Alongside Brener International Group, Golden Boy acquired a 25% stake in Houston Dynamo, a Major League Soccer team.

De La Hoya has partnered with Xbox 360, PS3 and PSP versions of EA Sports’ Fight Night Round 3.

Oscar even has an album, which EMI International released in 2000. The Latin pop album featured 13 tracks and was nominated for a Grammy.

Oscar was born on February 4, 1973, in a boxing family. His grandfather was an amateur boxer, while his father was a professional boxer in the 1960s.

As an amateur, Oscar won the national Junior Olympics when he was 15. He got the nickname ‘The Golden Boy of Boxing’ when he represented the United States at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Oscar De La Hoya competed as a professional from 1992 to 2008. He fought in six weight classes; Super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, light middleweight and middleweight.

The Golden Boy boasts of winning eleven world titles in the different weight classes, including the lineal championship in three weight classes.

The legendary American-Mexican boxer boasts a boxing record of 39-6. He won 30 of his fights through knockouts.

Golden Boy fought against some of the best boxers of his generation and never lost a match until 1999, when he faced Felix Trinidad.

Other boxers who stopped Oscar in the ring are Shane Mosley (two times), Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
