  • Wimbledon 2022 schedule Championships are like nothing that happened before
  • Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev missed the opportunities at Wimbledon 2022
  • Roger Federer made an appearance as a special guest and not a player

Wimbledon 2022 schedule Championships have, without a doubt, been unlike anything that ever took place there before.

As a result of bans and the removal of ranking points, the competition is an anomaly. This is despite the fact that the previous decade began with unparalleled disruption.

There is so much that’s happening out of the ordinary at Wimbledon and we take a look at it all. The focus is what’s missing.

ROGER FEDERER OUT OF ACTION

He arrived seven days later than expected. It was wonderful to see the eight-time champion at the celebration of champions at the Centre Court 100th anniversary. But this is the first time since the Swiss player made his professional debut that he has missed the Championships.

John McEnroe later tweeted that he’s not used to playing this kind of character, so being in Wimbledon makes him feel strange.

FLUCTUATING CROWD NUMBERS

After an absence of two years, the Wimbledon 2022 schedule tennis tournament is back. The long lines are back and tents are also busy with curios crowds. There is evidence of the genuine sense of community and international camaraderie that animates the village, the hill, and the physical courts.

Yes, the tournament took place in 2021, but it had an air of degeneration. It was as if it an annual celebration that had one-half of its attendees disqualified due to the calculations of clinical risk management.

Despite this, attendance was eleven percent lower from Monday through Thursday of the first week when compared to the same period in 2019. It was evident that there were quite a few empty seats during the evening Murray-time first-rounder was played.

It would be helpful if the organizers kept in mind that not everyone has the financial means to see the top players in the world.

BORIS BECKER

It feels different not having Becker on the commentator desk in Wimbledon 2022 schedule. The veteran German player is cooling his heels in a London Prison after incarceration.

A London Court found him guilty of hiding assets in an attempt to pay his debts in a bankruptcy trial he battled.

The commentary box missed Becker’s maverick voice during the match between Kyrgios and Tsitsipas on Saturday evening. Becker’s absence was most noticeable during this match because his counsel and analysis is always on point.

During Rafa Nadal’s match in the round of 16, Feliciano Lopez made an entry that was leisurely and easy on the ear. But, it is just not the same without the unpredictability of Becker’s eye and ear. Without his incredible expertise and professionalism, the following year will also be difficult.

NO RUSSIANS AND BELARUSIANS

The absence of Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev just made the whole tournament dull. Medvedev couldn’t play despite being world No.1.

The Wimbledon 2022 schedule begun appeal proceedings against its fine, of $750,000 for banning the participation of Russian and Belarusian players. This is as the LTA is probably taking that lead after billing for a third of that amount for its similar exclusion in Nottingham, Birmingham, and Eastbourne in the build-up to the Championships.

Sally Bolton, the chief executive of the All England Club, confirmed that Wimbledon begun appeal proceedings against its fine.  She said that it’s a legal process and hopefully, the appeal goes their way.

Both Medvedev and Rublev would have been optimistic about their opportunities at Wimbledon. They both looked forward to it but it’s one of those tournaments that kept them with a lot of suspense for months.

ANDY MURRAY

The 35-year-old player stated in his post-match press conference that he could have had a strong run in Wimbledon 2022 schedule. But he lost to John Isner.

It was one of those matches which if he made it across her probably would make it to the finals. The Scot was in fine shape before to his match at SW19. Murray got out of the competition far too early.
