The international break is over and clubs will be returning to action with several must watch football matches this weekend already making headlines.

The first games which will be played this weekend in Europe’s top five leagues are Lille vs Lens in Ligue 1 and Cadiz CF vs Granada CF in La Liga. Both matches will kick off at 11pm and will be making way for more games which will be played on Saturday and Sunday.

With that said, let’s take a look at the three must watch football matches this weekend:

1. Bayern Munich Vs Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, March 30) – Bundesliga

Eyes across Europe will be turning to the Bundesliga on Saturday when two of the biggest German clubs, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, clash again. Both sides have not been at their best this season but a victory in the 135th edition of Der Klassiker is somethings that both sides will be looking forward to.

Bayern, who will be hosting their longtime rivals at the Allianz Arena, have won the Der Klassiker 67 times and have been held to a draw 35 times. They have suffered defeats against the Black and Yellows 32 times.

The Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund fixture is one of the must watch football matches this weekend as it could determine Bayern’s fate in the race for the Bundesliga title this season. The Bavarians are currently ten points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and defeat will see them lose the opportunity of trying to catch up with Xabi Alonso’s side who are unbeaten across all competitions this campaign.

Bayern have had a difficult 2023-24 campaign and will part ways with manager Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season. The match against Dortmund is likely to go the way of the Bavarians as they haven’t lost against them since 2019. Kick off time is 8:30 pm.

2. Manchester City Vs Arsenal (Saturday, March 30) – Premier League

The game of the weekend in the English Premier League will be between Manchester City and Arsenal. The match will kick off at 6:30 pm.

Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta meet again this season in a crucial match that could determine which way the title will go at the end of the weekend. It’s not quite a title decider, but the winner could keep the momentum going until the end of the campaign.

The two clubs already met in the Premier League this season and the match went the way of Arsenal, thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s late strike. The Gunners will be looking to maintain their good run over the defending Premier League champions considering they also beat them at the start of the season through penalties to clinch the FA Community Shield.

Arsenal are currently on top of the standings with 64 points. Liverpool, who also have the same points, are second due to goal difference. Manchester City are third with 63 points.

3. Marseille Vs PSG – Ligue 1

One of the must watch football matches this weekend will be between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain. The Parisians, who are firmly on top of the Ligue 1 table will be travelling to Stade Velodrome Stadium to face seventh placed Marseille.

Sunday will be the second time these teams are meeting this season, with the first meeting which took place in September going PSG’s way. Luis Enrique‘s side thumped Marseille 4-0, thanks to Goncalo Ramos’ brace and goals from Achraf Hakimi and Randal Kolo Muani.

Marseille headed into the international break after suffering back-to-back defeats. They were beaten 3-1 by Villareal in the UEFA Europa League and then humbled 2-0 by Rennes away. The former had no consequence as they still progressed to the next round of the Europa League after winning the tie 5-3 on aggregate.

Marseille are unbeaten at home this season and will be looking forward to stop a dominant PSG side on Sunday at 9:45 pm.
