Lamin Jallow is a Gambian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Algerian club CR Belouizdad and the Gambia national team and was not part of the final squad representing Gambia at the AFCON 2024 due to an injury.

Born in Banjul, Gambia, the winger started playing for local teams in the country like Real De Banjul, Chievo Verona, Cittadella, Trapani and Salernitana. His football journey is based on hard work and dedication to scaling higher heights.

While playing for Chievo  Verona, Salernitana bought out his rights from the club after playing for them on loan and he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract. Two years later, he signed a three-year contract with Vinceza and the following season, he left for Hungary where he joined club Fehervar on loan with a buyout option.

A year later, the winger joined Turkish club Adanaspor on a two-year contract where he played for one year before signing with his present club CR Belouizdad. Internationally, he has been a key member of the Gambia national team. He was called up in the squad representing Gambia at the ongoing 2024 AFCON unfortunately, he suffered an injury and is not part of the final squad.

Early and personal life of Lamin Jallow

Lamin Jallow was born on July 22 1994 in Banjul, the capital of Gambia to parents of the country’s origin. The winger started playing football along the streets of Banjul where he showed potential for a promising career.

He was spotted by scouts from local clubs and joined several local clubs before he left for Hungary to play for Fehervar, and then to Turkey. His continued development and impressive performances in the youth teams in Banjul eventually earned him a place in the senior squad of a local club where he launched his professional career.

Jallow is a devout Muslim and often celebrates his wins with prayer. He is a role model for young people in his home country and is involved in various youth development programs.

Lamin Jallow has been a key player of the Gambia national team and he was expected to be part of the team playing for the Gambia at the 2024 AFCON currently going on in Ivory Coast, having represented his national team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, which was their first ever tournament in their history.

The winger helped the team reach the quarter-finals which was a stunning achievement for the nation. So, he was expected to be part of the team currently playing as his skills are a guarantee of success for the team. However, he was not named in Gambia’s national team final squad due to an injury.
