Issoufou Sellsavon Dayo is a Burkinabe professional football player who plays as a defender for RS Berkane and the Burkina Faso national team.

The centre-back began his career with Bobo Dioulasso in his home country of Burkina Faso, then moved to Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou where he won the Burkina Faso Premier League in 2014.

In the same year, the player joined AS Vita Club in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A year later, he joined RS Berkane in Morocco and has since won the CAF Confederation Cup with the club twice.

Dayo made his international debut for Burkina Faso and has been capped over 50 times. He has represented his country at the Africa Cup of Nations three times.

Personal Life

Issoufiou Dayo was born on August 6 1991 in  Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, in a poor family. He started playing football at a very young age, joining his local club RC Bobo Dioulasso.

His father passed away when the player was young and his mother had to struggle alone to raise them. This made him do part-time jobs to help his mother.

Despite the circumstances, he never gave up on his dream of becoming a footballer and worked hard to develop into a talented defender.

On joining the RC Bobo Dioulasso, he performed so well earning himself a place in the first team. He then joined Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou, one of the biggest clubs in Burkina Faso where he won a Premier League with the club.

A year later, the player moved to Morocco to join RS Berkane where he won the CAF Confederation Cup with the club twice.

Dayo made his international debut for Burkina Faso and since then, he has been capped over 50 times by his country, representing them at the Africa Cup of Nations three times.
