Career
TJ Dillashaw began his grappling journey while attending Bret Harte High School. He was an All-State wrestler and attended Cal State Fullerton to continue his career. In college, young Dillashaw was a three-time NCAA Division I National Qualifier.
Dillashaw contemplated turning to MMA after graduating from California State University. On 26 March 2010, he made his professional debut against another debutant, Czar Sklavos. He won the fight via unanimous decision. Two months later, Dillashaw defeated Brandon Ducker tor record his second professional victory.
In 2011, Dillashaw signed with the UFC to compete on The Ultimate Fighter and faced Matt Jaggers in his first match. He defeated Jaggers in the first round via TKO.

In 2014, TJ Dillashaw defeated Renan Barao to win his first UFC Bantamweight Championship. His victory remains to be one of the biggest upsets in MMA and UFC history. He defended the title for two years before dropping it.
Dillashaw won the UFC Bantamweight Championship for the second time after defeating Cody Garbrandt. However, his reign was short lived as he lost the title this time to Henry Cejudo.
On 22 October 2022, Dillashaw faced Aljamain Sterling in an attempt to win the UFC Bantamweight Championship a record-tying three times. He lost the fight via TKO in round two.
Dillashaw’s bout against Sterling turned out to be his last as he announced his retirement from MMA afterwards. On 5 December 2022, he was removed from the UFC roster.
