Career
Joselu began his football journey playing for the youth team of SD Silleda in 1999. After three years, he joined Celta de Vigo where he continued with his development until 2008. The young striker played his first match for Celta Vigo senior team towards the end of the 2008-09 season.
During the summer of 2009, Real Madrid purchased Joselu but loaned him back to Celta Vigo to get more playing time and continue his development. At the end of the 2009-10 season, the youngster only managed four goals as Celta Vigo finished 12th position.
Joselu played for Real Madrid Castilla during the 2010-11 season and finished as the top scorer alongside Alvaro Morata.
On 21 May 2011, the talented forward made his debut for Real Madrid, coming on as a substitute for Karim Benzema in a match against Almeria. He scored almost immediately after coming on to make the scoreline 8-1.
Despite struggling for playing time at Real Madrid, Joselu attracted the attention of several top European clubs. He joined 1988 Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee during the summer of 2012.
