Tennis legend Serena Williams is officially a mother of two beautiful children following the successful delivery of her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian.

She shared a photo with her newborn baby on her arms flanked by her husband Alexis Ohanian and her eldest daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

In the picture, she is glowing and wearing a pink dress in celebration of her new daughter. Alexis leans on her excitedly as Olympia poses happily knowing the joy of having a sister.

As the family celebrates the birth of their second child, the celebrity enters the frame once more while holding the couple’s newborn daughter.

Her husband posted a lengthy message on his Instagram page celebrating the successful birth of his second child.

“Welcome, Adira River Ohanian. I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama,” read a part of the message.

“’Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you’ve now given me another incomparable gift — you’re the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter. I’ll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister. Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea,” he added.

The retired tennis champion broke the news of her second pregnancy in May at the 2023 Met Gala ceremony.

She flaunted a noticeable baby bump as she walked the red carpet with her husband Alexis Ohanian at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Olympia Jr is now seven years old and her parents were excited that she would finally have a playmate.

Adira River Ohanian’s birth comes a year after her announcement of retiring from tennis to focus on her family and private businesses.

Serena, 41, exclusively told Vogue that her decision to exit from the court was largely to focus on expanding her family.

“’Earlier in my career, I never thought about having kids. There were times when I’ve wondered if I should ever bring kids into this world, with all its problems. I was never that confident or comfortable around babies or children,” she stated.

She admitted that being a mother made her feel great and she loved every moment she shared with Olympia and time was ripe to extend this love to yet another family member.

In past interviews, Serena shared the joy of motherhood as a celebrity tennis player. Although tennis is and remains her best endeavour in life is seeing Olympia grow.
