Millionaire footballers are your favourite wanderlusts when the break prevails, but F1 drivers’ who are on summer break now have the best picks in destinations.
Formula One stars literally have a life on the fast lane and all they look out for is the summer break to slow things down, unwind, rejuvenate and enjoy. Max Verstappen, George Russell, Pierre Gasly, have taken off on jaw-dropping journeys around the globe that even billionaire football players can’t match. The big question remains, which are these word-class destinations some of these F1 drivers took off to? Here they are.
MAX VERSTAPPEN

The Red Bull driver is a happy man who was looking forward to the summer break with a lot of expectations after his eighth victory at the Belgian Grand Prix. A few days after the last race, the 25-year-old Dutch driver and his model girlfriend 34-year-old Kelly Piquet, 34, flew into Sardinia, Italy, for a romantic holiday. Kelly showcased the stunning surroundings in a post on Instagram. One of the iconic couples in sports, Max and Kelly have been together since 2020.
Since then, they have taken in the picturesque surroundings and coastline vistas while travelling throughout the area with Kelly’s daughter Penelope, whom she welcomed in 2019 with her ex-husband Daniil Kvyat. The cost of a holiday in Sardinia varies greatly depending on the time of year, the length of stay, the type of accommodation, and the activities you plan to do.
However, as a general rule of thumb, be ready to spend around at least $2000 per day per person for a mid-range holiday. Sardinia is a beautiful island attracting holidaymakers from all over the world.
GEORGE RUSSELL
British F1 driver George Russell and his financial trader girlfriend Carmen Mundt are having a vacation of a lifetime. The Mercedes driver shared images of the beautiful sea, jet skiing, paddle boating, hoverboarding and enjoying hydro-jet packs. Russell and Mundt have been dating since 2020. Carmen attended the University of Westminster where she pursued a degree in finance and business management.
“Really good days trying some new stuff. I’ve never been very comfortable in water but have enjoyed pushing myself outside my comfort zone. A few small bruises later, we’re away!” Russell said.
PIERRE GASLY
Portugal’s Algarve is the place where Pierre Gasly and his fiancée Francisca Gomes are spending their break. They started dating in 2022 but went public about their relationship in 2023. It now appears that the couple is still enjoying their honeymoon.

Both of them have shared a number of images of their relationship as they are now vacationing in one of the world’s top destinations. Francisca even uploaded a cheeky snap earlier this week showcasing their suntans – and derrieres – at the beach. Gasly, 27, is also enjoying time unwinding in the hot tub. While overseas, Gasly has switched to playing golf instead of driving.
DANIEL RICCIARDO
Ricciardo who recently made a surprise comeback to F1 is currently holidaying in Ibiza, Spain with his friends DJs Tiesto and Martin Garrix. The Australian F1 driver left McLaren after winning eight races and remained off the circuit since the start of the 2023 season.
He then unexpectedly returned to F1 at the Hungarian Grand Prix as Red Bull’s third driver and now he is spending time at the most prestigious global tourist destinations. The West Australian quoted Ricciardo, 34, who is dating Heidi Berger saying that he is also spending great moments in Los Angeles where he owns a mansion. He loves the beach life in LA much as he enjoys the sun’s heat in Ibiza, Spain.
LEWIS HAMILTON
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton reportedly dating Columbian music star Shakira recently shared a fantastic underwater photo of himself. Hamilton is known for his penchant for his taste in opulent vacations having taken summertime excursions across the United States, Mexico, Jamaica and Costa Rica.
LANDO NORRIS
Lando Norris recently shared a video of himself leaping off a yacht into the Azure Ocean. He is finally enjoying some downtime with his family. The 23-year-old first boarded a helicopter with Verstappen to go see their mutual friend DJ Martin Garrix who was pictured with Ricciardo in Ibiza. Norris had a parting moment at the Tomorrowland dance festival in Belgium before taking a much-needed break.
