The wrestling world is still in shock over the tragic passing on of one of WWE’s biggest superstars over the past decade.
Bray Wyatt, who died at the age of 36, has not competed since his win over LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Math at the Royal Rumble in January. Reports had earlier stated that he was close to returning to the ring after being deemed fit to wrestle.
Even though he had been medically cleared to wrestle, WWE was taking precautions to ensure his long-term health will be stable. This was because Wyatt was suffering from an illness which was believed to be both career and life-threatening.
According to wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp, Bray Wyatt has died of a heart attack, after a brush with COVID that exacerbated existing heart conditions.
“I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues. There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away.” Sean Ross Sapp wrote on X.
Bray Wyatt is survived by his fiancee and former WWE ring announcer Joseann Offerman, and four children. For those who might not be aware, wrestler Bo Dallas is Wyatt’s younger brother.

Last year, Bray Wyatt broke character in the ring and discussed his mental health struggles. He commented: “I lost a lot of things. I lost my career, I lost two people who were very, very close to me, and I lost my way. I got to a point where I thought that everything that Id’ ever done here otherwise I thought was all meaningless.”
Following the confirmed report that Bray Wyatt is dead, several wrestlers have paid their tributes via different social media pages. Some of the big names in the wrestling world who have mourned Wyatt include The Rock, Cody Rhodes, Ric Flair, The Miz, Naomi, R-Truth and Karrion Kross, among others.
There’s no surprise that there have been many tributes pouring on considering Wyatt was one of the biggest WWE superstars over the past ten years.
