Following in the footsteps of his father, Button fell in love with racing at a very young age. He began karting aged eight and achieved success before progressing to car racing. He competed in the British Formula Ford Championship and the British Formula 3 Championship.
Button made his entry into Formula One in 2000 when he joined Williams. That year, he competed in the German and Belgian Grand Prix events. In 2003, he moved to Brackley-based teams.
At the 2004 World Drivers’ Championship, he finished third. The Briton would, however, drop to position nine the following year. He won his first Grand Prix at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2006 after BAR was renamed to Honda Team.

At the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2009, Button secured the World Drivers’ Championship. He won a record-equalling six of the first seven races of the 2009 season.
Button rose to fame in 2010 after joining McLaren where he partnered with fellow British driver Lewis Hamilton. Button performed well for McLaren and took his first pole in Belgium. After an amazing career, he officially retired in 2017.
