After five years of loyalty at Marseille, the player moved to Lyons on a four-year contract where his main intention was to achieve greater things and was handed shirt number 3.

In his first match against his former club Marseille, he received boos from the club’s supporters every time he touched the ball. His performance soon came under criticism by supporters though his manager defended him.

One year later, he moved to Italian club Torino on a year-long loan with a purchase option, making his debut in the Coppa Italia against Trapani, won by Torino. He scored his first goal for the club during a draw against Atalanta.

At the end of the season, he was voted by the fans as the best player for the club and his contract was redeemed for $3.8 million by the club. The contracts have seen his net worth grow in a very big way.

Upon the expiry of his contract with Torino, he parted ways with Watford as a free agent on a deal until the end of the season. However, the club was relegated and they released him.
