He is married to Sira John from Gambian and they have a baby boy together. He loves playing music and he says if he wasn’t a footballer, he would have been a DJ.

Career

Born in Senegal, Oumar began his football career with his hometown club US Ouakam. He signed his first professional contract with Ouakam in 2008, helping his team win the second League title on scoring 21 goals.

He played as a winger a role that saw Ouakam win the Senegal Premier League title in 2011.

In 2012, he was set for a trial at Club Brann and upon success, he was signed into the club on a six months loan. It was so unfortunate that he suffered injuries, returning to Senegal after playing only three matches.

He went for another trial at Club Saint Etienne and it was successful. The club offered him a contract but he turned it down, joining Turkish Super League club Akhisar Belediyespor, signing a permanent contract with them a few months later. He finished his season at the club with 15 goals.

In 2014, he joined club Lokomotiv Moscow on a transfer fee of $6.1 million. He scored for the Club in the Russian Cup Final in a match against Kuban Krasnodar, and his side won. In 2016, he joined Premier League Club Everton on a four-and-a-half-year contract for a transfer fee of about $16.9 million pounds, making a debut for the club against AFC Bournemouth when he came in as a substitute.

His stay at Everton was not smooth and was demoted to the U23 squad, with his personal locker revoked. In 2017, he signed a loan contract with Hull City with an option of a permanent transfer from Everton at a fee of $12.6 million. He made his debut the following day, as a substitute in a home win against AFC Bournemouth.

His first goal at Hull City was in the WEFL Cup semi-final against Manchester United and his first goal in the Premier League was in a match against Liverpool. A few weeks later, he came in as a substitute in a match against Swansea City scoring two goals in the victory.

In 2021, he signed for EFL Championship side Huddersfield Town without making an appearance till the expiry of his contract in June of that year. In 2022, He signed for EFL League One side Burton Albion after a short training with the club, scoring three goals in twelve appearances.

In 2023, he signed in for Morecambe, a club that was threatened with relegation. The contract was on a short -term till the end of the season.
