Nicknamed “The Tartan Tornado”, Josh Taylor made his professional boxing debut on 18 July 2015 against Archie Weah. He won the fight in the next round via TKO.
Taylor won his first world title on 18 May 2019 after 14 professional fights. He defeated Ivan Baranchyk via 12 round unanimous decision to claim the super-lightweight title.
