The England international turned professional in March 2017 while playing for Chelsea. Reece James captained the Blues Under-18 team during the 2017-18 season to win the FA Youth Cup.
Chelsea named him the club’s Academy Player of the Year at the end of that season. The Blues offered Reece James a four-year contract in June 2018, then sent him on loan to Wigan Athletic.
He returned to Chelsea at the end of the 2018-19 season after impressing at Wigan Athletic. Reece James was to make his debut for Chelsea at the start of the 2019-20 season but suffered an injury which forced him out until September.
Reece was a key player in Frank Lampard’s squad and cemented his position as the Blues’ right back after Thomas Tuchel took over. He was part of Chelsea players that played a significant role as the Blues won the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League.
