  • Erling Haaland is August’s Premier League Player of the Month. The Manchester City forward is the first player to win the award in his first month since Bruno Fernandes in February 2020.
  • Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta has been voted Barclays Manager of the Month for August 2022. Allan Saint-Maximin’s goal was voted Budweiser Goal of the Month.

Erling Haaland has been voted EA Sports Player of the Month for August 2022. The Manchester City attacker had one of the most outstanding performances in the first month for a player in Premier League history.

He was nominated for the award alongside seven other Premier League players. The others were Gabriel Jesus, Nick Pope, Pascal Gross, Wilfred Zaha, Rodrigo, Martin Odegaard and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Manchester City attacker is the first player to win the award in his first month since Bruno Fernandes in February 2020.

Erling Haaland scored the most goals in the opening month of a Premier League season. So it’s not a surprise that he won August’s player of the month award.

The Norwegian attacker scored against West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. He also recorded an assist in his appearance against AFC Bournemouth.

Erling Haaland’s nine goals in his first five appearances were the most in Premier League’s history. He broke the record of eight goals previously held by Sergio Aguero and Mick Quinn.

The 22-year-old attacker scored two hat-tricks last month. He is only the sixth player in Premier League history to score hat-tricks in two consecutive matches.

Haaland scored his first hat-trick against Crystal Palace and then scored his second the following gameweek against Nottingham Forest.

Haaland, Premier League Player of the Month for August, is the first to score two consecutive hat-tricks since Harry Kane in 2017.

Due to Haaland’s current form, it won’t be a surprise if he wins September’s Player of the Month award.

On the other hand, Mikel Arteta won Premier League Manager of the Month for August 2022. He was declared the winner after the votes of a panel were combined with those from the public on the EA Sports website.

The award is Mikel Arteta’s third managerial prize since joining Arsenal. He previously won the Manager of the Month award in March 2022 and September 2021.

The Spanish international is the second Arsenal manager to start a season with five straight wins in the Premier League.

Arteta led his Arsenal squad to victories against Crystal Palace, Leicester City, AFC Bournemouth, Fulham and Aston Villa.

Despite the 3-1 loss to Manchester United in their sixth Premier League fixture, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are on top of the Premier League table with 15 points.

Arteta was nominated for the Manager of the Month award alongside Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte, Graham Potter and Marco Silva.

Allan Saint-Maximin’s volley against Wolves was voted August’s Goal of the Month. It is the first time that Saint-Maximin has won a Premier League monthly award.

Newcastle United now boasts successive Goal of the Month awards after Miguel Almiron won for May.
