The group-stage draw for the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League concluded on August 26, and every team knows their opponents in this season’s campaign. 

Several teams have used their presence in the UEFA Champions League to sign valuable players. And some of these signings are yet to make their debut in Europe’s premier football competition. 

Here is a list of the top five most valuable players who will make their UEFA Champions League debut this season. 

1. Florian Wirtz – €70 million 

Florian Wirtz is the most valuable player on the list of players who could make their UEFA Champions League debut this season. He is the only player on our list who did not complete a move this summer.

Florian is undoubtedly one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe. The 19-year-old star, valued at 70 million euros, will make his UEFA Champions League debut this season while playing for his boyhood club – Bayer Leverkusen. 

Florian played a huge role last season in helping his team qualify for this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign. He scored seven goals and provided ten assists in 24 appearances for the Bundesliga club. 

Wirtz suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament at the end of last season and will be looking forward to a quick recovery. 

2. Aurelien Tchouameni – €60 million 

Aurelien Tchouameni is one of the players who completed transfers immediately after the transfer window opened. The Frenchman joined Real Madrid from Monaco for around 80 million euros. 

Tchouameni is one of the valuable players who could make their UEFA Champions League debut this 2022-23 season. The talented midfielder looks set to become a starter at Real Madrid after the departure of Casemiro to Manchester United. 

Aurelien has a big task ahead of him in the UEFA Champions League because Real Madrid will be looking forward to defending the title they won last season. The youngster is valued at 60 million euros. 

3. Kalvin Phillips – €50 million

Kalvin Phillips is one of the players who excelled at Leeds United under coach Marcelo Bielsa. The England international, valued at 50 million euros, joined Manchester City at the start of this summer transfer window. 

Phillips is among the valuable players who will make their UEFA Champions League debut this season. The highly rated midfielder is expected to have a huge impact on Pep Guardiola’s side this season. He is expected to fill the gap left behind by Fernandinho, who returned to his native Brazil.

4. Richarlison – €48 million 

Premier League star Richarlison has gained a reputation for being a menace to opposition defenders. The Brazilian international joined Tottenham Hotspurs for around 58 million euros this summer transfer window. 

Richarlison, whose value is €48 million, is one of the valuable players who will be making their UEFA Champions League debut this season. 

The 25-year-old will play in Tottenham Hotspurs’ attack alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. He has never participated in any continental competition and hopes that his first experience will be a success. 

5. Raphinha – €45 million 

Raphinha is among the players who have made headlines this summer transfer window. The Brazilian international joined FC Barcelona after rejecting a move to Premier League side Chelsea. 

Raphinha has featured in the UEFA Europa League for all of his previous clubs except Leeds United. However, he has never played in the Champions League. The talented winger is among valuable players who will be making their debut in Europe’s premier football competition this season. 

With the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Frenkie de Jong in FC Barcelona’s squad, Raphinha could enjoy a successful debut.
