Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United this summer. According to Ben Jacobs, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent is telling elite clubs to sign Ronaldo this summer transfer window. 

Rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United began at the start of this summer transfer window. There were reports that Cristiano Ronaldo was linked to FC Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea. 

However, all the above clubs reportedly rejected the Portuguese star.

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly earns 500,000 every week at Manchester United. He is ready to receive a pay cut if any of the elite clubs playing in the UEFA Champions League sign him this summer. 

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is currently pushing Atletico Madrid to sign the Manchester United star. Mendes wants Ronaldo to join the La Liga club this summer. However, Atletico Madrid are not in a financial position to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. 

FC Barcelona were also given a chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo by Jorge Mendes. However, the Spanish club preferred to sign Robert Lewandowski, who joined a few days ago from FC Bayern Munich. 

Cristiano Ronaldo has been at Manchester United since last summer. He was Manchester United’s best player last season. Ronaldo scored 18 Premier League goals last season as Manchester United struggled to win matches. 

Manchester United finished position six with 58 points last season. The Red Devils did not qualify for the UEFA Champions League. They will be playing in the Europa League this season. 

Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League is one of the main reasons Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave before the start of next season. Ronaldo wants to play Champions League football, and that’s why his agent is asking the elite European clubs to sign him.

On the other side, Manchester United are not willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave this summer. The new manager Eric ten Hag, intends to have Ronaldo on his team. Eric ten Hag is building a team that will be competitive next season, and he wants Cristiano Ronaldo to be in it. 

Manchester United have already made several signings this summer as they try to build a new team. Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen have joined the club this summer. The Red Devils are also pushing for de Jong’s transfer before the summer transfer window is closed. 

Manchester United are currently on a pre-season tour where they have played three matches, winning all of them. 

According to the performance exhibited by Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo will play a crucial role at the club as they challenge for trophies next season. The Red Devils have to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to stay until the end of next season.
