Despite the fact that Pochettino had a reasonably successful season, there were issues to be resolved at the club. Rumors had it that the Argentine coach had a troubled stint at Parc des Princes at the start of last season.

The conflict between a number of the players and the coach, stirred the waters for the former Tottenham boss. The speculation in the media is that some players had wrangles which he never took note of.

According to L’Equipe, Lionel Messi’s entourage harbored severe misgivings about Pochettino’s ability to strategize and direct the team’s play.

Further, some PSG’s playing squad members believed that Pochettino’s style of play was restrictive. It did not give them the capacity to make good transitions when it comes to counter-attacks.

Pochettino was criticized for his playmaking abilities many time. What this means is that he failed to get the most out of his primary offensive threats: Neymar, Messi, and Kylian Mbappe.

Pochettino’s friendly personality was also a subject of debate with some individuals claiming that he is too gentle with players. Pundits say he failed to punish them when it necessary.
