  • Cristiano Ronaldo needs no introduction in the world; even a non-football fan is familiar with his name
  • The Manchester United star is one of the best footballers, if not the best
  • Ronaldo has set several records, and he is expected set more others next season

Cristiano Ronaldo is a record-breaker who has achieved numerous prestigious accomplishments in his career. His incredible accomplishments place him among the world’s best players.

Even at 37, he remains one of the best in the world and is on his way to breaking many records. He made an unpredicted return to Manchester United after more than a decade away.

Ronaldo scored only 18 Premier League goals in his comeback season. This was below his standard, given his stature.

CR7 is always up for a challenge when he plays, and next season could be no different. Ronaldo has a lot of records to break as the new season approaches.

Today, we’ll review five records he could break in the 2022-23 season.

1 Most goals in a European season

Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to break a single European football record despite monopolising the Champions League all through his career.

With 17 goals in a single Champions League season, Ronaldo holds the record, but Radamel Falcao holds the record for most goals in a single European season.

Falcao scored 18 goals for Atletico Madrid in the Europa League during the 2010-11 season, and Ronaldo will also be seen battling in the competition next season.

The Europa League could be a much easier competition than the Champions League, and Ronaldo will have a great chance to break Falcao’s record in 2022-23.

2 Most goals in a single Premier League match

Cristiano Ronaldo is a potentially deadly goal scorer who knows how to make the most of his opportunities. He has twice scored five goals in a single game in his career.

And both came during his time in Spain, against Granada and Espanyol. In the Premier League, however, Ronaldo has yet to show the same deadly touch.

The football legend has 60 career hat-tricks, but only three of them have come in the Premier League. Surprisingly, two of these appeared only last season.

Five players hold the record for most Premier League goals in a single season. They have all scored five goals. When Ronaldo appears in the song, he will undoubtedly break this record.

3 First player to win the Premier League under two managers at Man United

Cristiano Ronaldo and Ferguson have a father-son relationship. Ferguson has played a significant role in his career thus far, whether signing him from Sporting or securing his return to Old Trafford last year.

Ronaldo also repaid Ferguson’s faith by assisting Ferguson in winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

Before joining Real Madrid, Ronaldo won the Premier League in 2009. On the other hand, Manchester United has not won the English Premier League since 2012.

If Ronaldo leads Man Utd to the Premier League title next season, he will have accomplished something remarkable. He will become Manchester United’s first player to win the Premier League under two different managers.

2 Most goals in a Premier League season

CR7 held this record until Mohamed Salah of Egypt broke it in the 2017-18 season. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, Ronaldo scored 31 goals in the 2007-08 season, breaking the record for most goals in an English Premier League season. Mohamed Salah topped him out by one goal in 2017-18, scoring 32 goals.

The Man United star shooting boots are still hot, and Salah’s record could be jeopardised if he can find his groove again.

He scored 18 goals in his Premier League comeback season last season, and that number will surely rise in the upcoming season.

1 Oldest Golden Boot winner in Premier League

The Portuguese joined Man United from Juventus last season, seemingly out of nowhere. Many prognosticators questioned his ability to be successful in the world’s strongest league at the age of 36, but he proved them all wrong.

Ronaldo finished second on the list of top scorers with 18 goals. Manchester United’s star is still a hot rod, and he could be back to his best next season.

Jamie Vardy, 33, was the Premier League’s oldest golden boot winner in the 2019-20 season. The record is undoubtedly within range with Ronaldo’s family tree, and we may even see CR7 score this season after more closeness with the United squad.
