Formula One announced on Tuesday night that it will return to Las Vegas with a new street race that will take place on November 2023 along the historic Strip.
It will be F1’s first visit to Las Vegas since the controversial Caesars Palace Grand Prix, held on a temporary circuit in the casino’s parking lot in 1984.

The event will be held on a Saturday night, marking the first time a Grand Prix has been held on a Saturday night since South Africa in 1985 and breaking with the regular Sunday schedule.
The race will begin at 10 pm PT to appeal to late-night US viewers and those in Europe waking up in the morning.
When asked about the decision to hold the race on a Saturday night by Motorsport.com, Domenicali praised F1’s flexibility, stating it was the “right time and a wonderful slot for this event.”
“Formula 1 cannot be static,” Domenicali said.
“To have a race on Saturday at 3 pm would be a genuine mistake. That is why we are flexible, and we are showing that’s the right moment to have the best show in this context.
“I don’t see any problem with that. And if you think actually in terms of timing in Europe, the race time we have on Saturday is 10 pm, Saturday night is perfect because also that audience will be connected.
“By the way, we could have done even earlier or later; everyone would have been connected that night with Las Vegas, no doubt.”

Las Vegas is a city known for casinos, extravagant hotels, and an excess of glowing displays bearing famous names and faces.
A city where anything is imaginable, buffets the size of swimming pools, and a city that is more American than a Milk Shake.
Las Vegas is all about the superlatives, a brighter, glitzier and bigger city.
It’s a light show for 2 kilometres. The roads are bumpy, as you’d expect given the amount of traffic that passes along this stretch of road .
But that won’t be a problem for the drivers’ race weekend, as organizers plan to entirely resurface the path where the 14-turn track which includes three straights – runs Aside from the grandstands that will be constructed, there are other angles to watch the sport.
There are many terraces, lavish suites, swimming pool decks, and bar balconies to relax on, all with a spectacular view of the track.
According to F1, the event will be promoted in conjunction with several of the casinos and resorts in the Las Vegas area and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
“We eagerly anticipate the moment when the history, energy and momentum of Formula 1 will culminate in an unforgettable Saturday night on the Las Vegas Strip,” said Steve Hill, the president and CEO of the LVCVA.

F1 in Las Vegas has a three-year deal in place, but Domenicali said he hoped the event would “remain for longer.”
The 10 pm start will be the latest in Formula One history, surpassing the existing 8 pm start time for night races in Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
F1 DRIVERS EXCITED TO RACE IN LAS VEGAS
As many fans were excited about the Las Vegas GP, the F1 drivers were super excited to race on Las Vegas’s famous 6.12km street circuit in 2023.
“That’s going to be a pretty hardcore event,” said seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton when he found out – while AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly summed up many of the drivers’ responses, “That’s going to be insane.”
The race in Las Vegas will be the third in the United States, joining the previous races in Austin and Miami, both of which have long-term contracts.
