“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” Ronaldo wrote.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
Ronaldo continued by thanking their doctors and nurses for “all their expert care and support.”
“We are all devastated at this loss, and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” he concluded the post, signed by him and Rodríguez.
Ronaldo, the father of four-year-old twins Eva Maria and Mateo, four-year-old daughter Alana Martina, and 11-year-old son Cristiano Jr, revealed his pregnancy on Instagram on Oct. 28.
The Manchester United player announced the news with a snapshot of himself in bed with Rodrguez, holding up ultrasound images.

He also provided a cute photo of himself with his other four children.
In September, the sportsman posted a gallery of family images on Instagram, smiling as his four children played on and around him in Manchester’s glorious weather.
The hashtag “#blessedfamily” is included in his caption, which roughly translates to “Who says there is no sun in Manchester?”
Manchester United announced in August that it had reached an agreement with Juventus to bring the talent back to England. In a deal with Real Madrid, Ronaldo first joined the Italian squad in 2018.
“Today, I depart from an amazing club, the biggest in Italy and surely one of the biggest in all of Europe. I gave my heart and soul for Juventus, and I’ll always love the city of Turin until my final days,”
Ronaldo shared on Instagram at the time.
Ronaldo previously spent six years with Manchester United, from 2003 to 2009. He won three league titles and one Champions League during his time there.
From 2009 until 2018, the father of four played for Real Madrid for nine years.
